Dr. Liv Castillo PT, DPT, OCS, CMPT, FRCms
Liv is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist (OCS) with 10 years of clinical experience. She completed a manual therapy residency through the Institute of Manipulative and Physiotherapy Clinical Training (2019), completed a 750 hours of Classical Pilates Instructor training program (2021), and furthered her clinical education within the world of joint mobility training when she became a Functional Range Conditioning movement specialist (2023).
After graduation, Liv began her career as a physical therapist in the Midwest, working in Chicago where she trained with the Joffrey Ballet, and later in St. Louis where she served as the lead physical therapist for the Big Muddy Dance Company (now Saint Louis Dance Theatre). Growing up as a dancer herself, she developed a specialized interest in treating dancers, performers, yogis, and aerial artists.
After moving to Southern California, Liv transitioned out of the standard clinical setting and founded her own Physical Therapy company, treating clients in their homes and virtually around the world. Over the past few years, she has developed strong ties to the local track and field community and began working with Olympic and Paralympic Champions. When she’s not training athletes at Maven, she trains with track athletes in LA and works with professional athletes worldwide via virtual performance training.
Liv grew up in central Illinois playing tennis, golf, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and running track. She continues to stay active through racket sports and triathlon training, while also embracing mindful movement-whether that’s a sunset longboard ride along the beach path, acro yoga, or qigong. She loves international travel, farm-to-kitchen cooking, and spending time in nature.
